Rat poisons work their way up the food chain with devastating effects. Poisoned Rats do not die in bait boxes. The rodents are consumed by predators such as raptors, snakes, coyotes, and bobcats. The mountain lions at the top of the food chain feed on smaller predators that have eaten the poison.
