We continue our practice of providing new neighbors in Old Agoura and Liberty Canyon with new neighbor wildlife orientation bags.
We completed our study with Annandale II in May 2023. The year-long seasonal study focused on testing products designed to repel gophers and ground squirrels.
For the second year in a row, we won the best nonprofit/community group category for our "Wild About Wildlife" float
Four parties came together with a goal to put raptor perches surrounding the baseball fields at Agoura High School. Cathy Schoonmaker, National Park Service, Carolyn Trocino, Poison Free Agoura, Julie Abbot of Agoura High School, and Rhett Krovitz (Poison Free Agoura team liaison and student at Agoura High School).
We will continue our practice of assisting the City of Agoura Hills with the annual mailer to businesses in Agoura Hills urging businesses to use alternatives to rodent poisons.
Are you wild about wildlife? Display a Protect Wildlife sign in front of your home! We have over 30 signs in Old Agoura. Make sure it is okay with your HOA to place a sign in front of your home. We are grateful to SAMO fund, the official partner to NPS for these amazing signs! The Santa Monica Mountains Fund - Official NPS Partner - General 4 (samofund.org)
The Cities Against Rat Poison was at the Malibu 5K on 11/4/23! We will see everyone again next year!
We are incredibly proud of Chiara Reynolds and Michelle Clark for focusing their Girl Scout Silver Award work on making the world a better place for wildlife. Chiara and her family are Liberty Canyon residents and they worked closely with Michelle on getting raptor perches at Bethany Christian in Thousand Oaks! We are grateful to Cathy Schoonmaker and the National Park Service for guidance and the donation of the raptor perch and Julie Shannon, Principal at Bethany Christian for all her help on making this happen! We are also grateful for amazing mothers -- Karen Pace and Claudia Clark!
We continue to provide education in our community. On 11/4/23, we had a table at the Old Agoura BBQ. Also present at the BBQ were Wings of Discovery, NPS, SAMO fund, and Sherry Ferber an AMAZING wildlife advocate!
We are grateful for the article in The Acorn.
